Q:  Where are the assembly instructions? 

A:  The assembly and fitting instructions are in the video on our website, or scan the QR code on the card that ships with each LayerOne holster.

Q:  How do I measure my body to determine how many straps I need? 

A:  Please check out the assembly and fitting instructions video which shows how to do this.

Q:  Why would I buy the full kit with 6 straps, when I only need 3 straps? 

A:  Buying the full kit is the best value because: 

• Two of the 6 straps are free.  Why?

• We learned from experience:

  • Mistakes can be made when measuring and cutting straps

  • Leaving straps in a hot car will deform them, sometimes permanently, so we have your back with the two free straps since damaged products can't be accepted for refunds

  • We have seen more than one fastener go down sink drains, into air vents, etc., so we include extra fasteners

• More straps enable more configurations 

• More straps also enable commonly used configurations to be kept partially or completely assembled so that moving the holster component from one configuration to the other only takes a few seconds ​

 

Q:  Does LayerOne have to be worn against the skin? 

A:  LayerOne can be worn against the skin or over an undershirt.

Q:  How often does LayerOne need to be cleaned?  

A:  Wash the components daily if needed, by hand with a small amount of liquid body soap and lukewarm water, then hang dry or use a non-fibrous towel.  We recommend cleaning everything before the first use.  Be sure it is completely dry before donning and holstering a pistol.

Q:  Why are there two sizes of fasteners? 

A:  The Short Fasteners provide just the right amount of clearance for a strap that connects to another strap, or to the LayerOne holster, so that each can move independently of the other which improves comfort.   

While not necessary, if two straps are being stacked/overlapped and then fastened to the holster, or if three straps are being stacked and fastened to one another, the Tall Fasteners should be used.  In both cases, printing can become more obvious depending on the individual's body type, size, and shape.  

 

Q:  Are the components available separately?  

A:  Yes, as offered on the “Shop” page.

Q:  Can I use the straps and fasteners for other purposes? 

A:  Using any of the components for any other purpose will void their warranty.  If any of the components are used for some other purpose, never use those components to carry a pistol in LayerOne or any other holster.

Q:  Is LayerOne a good option for high-risk environments? 

A:  LayerOne is intended for use in medium-risk profile environments (e.g., office settings) where undetectable concealment is typically critical.

Q:  Are the components safe to wear against my skin? 

A:   Like wearable technology, watch bands and other products made from thermoplastics that are in regular or constant contact with our skin, our materials are approved for medical and healthcare applications, FDA approved, RoHS compliant and are biocompatible with skin and body.  In the extremely unlikely event of a rash, discontinue use immediately and please reach out to us for a full refund.  

 

Q:  How long will LayerOne last? 

A:  LayerOne should last several years under appropriate use and cleaning.  Avoid leaving it in extreme temperatures as well as stretching the components because they are not rubber and may be permanently damaged. Never use a strap with stretched holes or any visible damage.
