I never considered placing a holster against my skin. The comfort and feel of this holster are big reasons to purchase it because they make it a lot easier to carry. Putting it together and adjusting the fit for the first time is a little time consuming but not concerning. All the parts are high quality and easy to work with. The comfort, absence of printing, and adaptability…it’s brilliant. The x-back rig works best for me because it has so many points of adjustability. LayerOne keeps everything in place, delivering just the right amount of shift as I move thanks to the textures on the materials.

Business clothing is required at my professional services organization so for me, if a holster is obvious, then all other attributes (and challenges) are irrelevant. I’m finally able to carry without questions. I’m a slender man that wears slimmer-fit clothing which has caused me to return a few other holsters. I’ve known Matt for 6 years, worked daily with him for over 3 in his former career so I’ve witnessed the extensive degree to which he goes above and beyond to support his customers. Then I watched as he meticulously worked to get every aspect of LayerOne right that he could across as many different pistols, and it was exciting to watch focused abilities driven by passion.
I’m a large guy (6’5” former football player) but even at my size I had trouble with printing on my business shirts because I carry a Springfield Mod.2 dual stack sub with the 3.3” barrel. LayerOne solved that challenge, and its micro adjustability made it easy to tweak it to just right. It’s comfortable, reliable, breathable and very easy to put on and remove.
The video is useful, and you can figure it out, but some pictures would likely cut the time for initial assembly down to 5 to 10 minutes. I’d also like to see pictures of other configurations including appendix carry.
I absolutely recommend LayerOne for its intended applications.

I carry a concealed pistol most days and shoot competitively which means I invest a lot of time, money and energy into gear and training for protection of myself and those around me. I never found a holster that worked with my business attire so despite accessibility, draw speed and on-body concealment being top priorities, I resorted to carrying my CCW in laptop bags.
LayerOne solved that and is my go-to for the 50 hours I spend each week dressed for corporate America. I met Matt in 2009 when we worked together for 4 years at the same company, and we remain friends today. I’ve always considered Matt to be the best at anything he does, whether it be technology sales, snowmobiling, or in this case, holster design and manufacture.
I tested LayerOne with my M&P Shield and I thought the fit would be too tight, but it ended up fitting well. It took a little getting used to because I’ve only owned holsters that are form-fit to the exact gun I’m carrying. It’s great for corporate carry, as it’s designed for, but also under a loose t-shirt. It solved my problem of having my gun show on my waist at the grocery store when reaching for a high shelf. I highly recommend it.

It’s worth every penny. I wear polos at work and button downs at church. When I ask friends if they can see it, none can. I install network and security technology so I’m moving around all day indoors and out. I love it because it’s comfortable and keeps the pistol out of the way. And now the hammer never digs into my love handle, the grip never jams my hip bone when I hop in the car and so far, no sweating.
I’m 6’8”, 48L so I’d prefer a strap longer than 36” but it’s easy to lengthen them. I unknowingly used some of the tall fasteners but now that I’m using only short ones, the printing stopped. Sometimes my body position causes the lower wing to curl inward, so I just press it outward at night to bring the shape back.
